Choosing The Right Footwear

Make sure the shoes you choose for your wedding day aren’t killing your feet by the wedding night. Whether you’ll be standing in high heels or dancing in kicks, we’ve got a few points to help you choose the right shoes for your wedding! Here is our list of tips for Choosing The Right Footwear.

Don’t get a step ahead of yourself!

First things first, shoes compliment your dress, not the other way around. The cut and hem of your dress determines if you’ll see your feet, and how much height you’ll want to add with high-heels, wedges, or flats. Don’t pick your footwear before you’ve found your dress.

What’s your style?

High-Heels aren’t for everyone, and you’re not a fan of them to begin with, why change your mind just for your wedding day? Stick to your style and comfort level

What’s your day looking like?

Speaking of comfort, every lady knows heels can hurt! After walking down the aisle, standing for vows, and taking all those photos, your feet may be exhausted. Consider bringing an elegant pair of shoes or flats to change into at your reception. They’re way easier to dance in anyway!

Where is the wedding?

When it comes to versatility, heels aren’t exactly “all-terrain.” Make sure if you’re having an outdoor wedding that your high-heels aren’t going to sink into the grass and causing you to stumble as you walk down the aisle, or worse, roll an ankle! Venue appropriate shoes are KEY!

BREAK THEM IN!

High heels, sandals, flats, whatever you choose – get them at least 2 months before your wedding and break them in. Your wedding day is not the right time to discover how uncomfortable your shoes are, or that they’re giving you blisters. Even a little break-in pays off with big comfort!

Footwear that looks great is as important as how it feels – so whatever shoes your choose these simple tips will make sure you’re focused on your wedding day and not on your feet. Check out our blog for more tips as tricks to #wedducate for any event
